Grief, Loss, and Change
You do not have to make your
grief neat for someone else.
Grief and Loss Counseling in Kerrville, TX
Loss can leave you missing someone deeply, angry about what happened, relieved that a hard chapter has ended, or unsure who you are now. You might be moving through your days while privately feeling as if life has split into a before and after.
At Embracing Change Therapy, I offer grief and loss counseling in Kerrville, TX, and virtually. There is no required timeline or correct set of feelings here. We can make space for your loss and for the life you are still living.
START WHERE YOU ARE
Do you feel
like this?
- You are exhausted by people asking whether you are “doing better.”
- You feel numb one day and overwhelmed the next.
- You miss the person, and also feel anger, regret, or relief that is hard to say aloud.
- Ordinary places, dates, or routines catch you off guard.
- Your relationships have changed and you feel alone even around other people.
- You are grieving a person, relationship, role, health change, or future you expected to have.
Grief can be complicated without being wrong. You deserve a place where you can speak honestly about all of it.
Loss changes more than your plans
Grief may affect sleep, concentration, energy, identity, and your sense of connection. It can come in waves and look different from one person to the next. A death may bring unfinished conversations or mixed feelings; a divorce, estrangement, or major life change can bring grief too.
Therapy is a place to understand your experience, make room for emotion, and decide how to carry what matters to you forward. The goal is not to erase your connection to what you lost.
YOUR THERAPY WORK
How grief counseling can help
Our work may include:
01
Mixed emotions
Making room for sadness, anger, guilt, relief, and other mixed emotions.
02
Finding ways
Finding ways to handle difficult dates, reminders, and changes in routine.
03
Keep returning
Talking through unfinished conversations and questions that keep returning.
04
Sense of self
Exploring how loss has changed your roles, relationships, and sense of self.
05
Unrecognizable
Rebuilding daily structure and connection when life feels unrecognizable.
06
Grief overlaps
Noticing when grief overlaps with depression, trauma, or substance use and considering added support.
I draw from CBT, ACT, and supportive, values-based work. We will focus on what helps you remain connected to yourself and to life, without demanding that you “move on.”
MEETING YOU WHERE YOU ARE
There are many kinds of grief
- Death of someone you love
We can honor your relationship and the reality of their absence, including the parts of the relationship that were complicated.
- Divorce or the end of a relationship
You may be grieving the person, the shared routines, and the future you had pictured. - Family estrangement or an unmet need
Some losses are hard to explain because the person is still alive. Your grief still counts. - Life transitions
An empty nest, health change, career shift, or loss of an old identity can leave you asking what comes next.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
You don't have to figure this out alone.
I am Season Yerasimides, an LPC-Associate and fully licensed Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with a master’s degree in counseling and a specialty in addiction.
My work includes grief, life transitions, and the moments when loss changes how a person sees themselves and their future.
I have lived through losses and transitions of my own, including the death of a parent, divorce, and an empty nest. I will not assume my experience is yours. My style is warm, direct, and honest, and I will meet you where you are while helping you find your next steps.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions about grief therapy
Don’t see your question here? Reach out — I’m happy to help.
Is my grief “serious enough” for counseling?
If a loss is affecting you or you want a place to talk about it, that is enough reason to reach out.
How long is grief supposed to last?
There is no universal schedule. We can focus on how grief is affecting your life now rather than measuring you against a timeline.
Can I grieve someone I had a difficult relationship with?
Yes. Love, anger, longing, and relief can coexist. You do not need to simplify the relationship here.
Do you work with losses other than death?
Yes. We can talk about divorce, estrangement, changing roles, health changes, and other losses.
Will therapy make me forget them or move on?
No. We can explore ways to live with the loss and keep a meaningful connection to what mattered.
Do you offer online therapy, and what is the fee?
I offer in-person sessions in Austin and virtual appointments. Sessions are $150, and I do not take insurance. I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
